Issues 13 — 20
Continuing with our exploration of the 2021 issues from the People's Republic of China, this time we examine issues 13 through 20.
2021-13 A single stamp commemorating the opening of Museum of The Communist Party of China, Beijing + Label. Issued 2021 June 20. Perforated 13.25 x 13, syncopated, Scott 4815
2021-14 China Post issued a set of two commemorative stamps entitled The Games of the XXXII Olympiad on July 23, 2021. The denomination of each stamp is 1.2 yuan, and 6.6 million sets were issued. This set of two commemorative stamps depict table tennis mixed doubles and men's weightlifting. The stamps show the wonderful moments of the athletes in the competitions, and highlight the beauty of struggle and competition, as well as the beauty of speed and strength in sports. The design of "2021" in the background is presented with abstract geometry and embellished with cherry blossom patterns.
This set of stamps was designed by Zhang Qiang and Hu Xi, and printed with offset printing technology by Henan Posts and Telecommunications Printing House Company Limited. Size: 40x30mm Perf: 13. Table tennis is Scott 4823, weightlifting is Scott 4824.
2021-16 China Post issued a set of 20 commemorative stamps (20 pieces) in one sheet entitled The 100th Anniversary of the Founding of The Communist Party of China on July 1, 2021. The contents of the commemorative stamps include: 1. Epoch-making Events; 2. Salient Days; 3. the Central Pillar; 4. the Great Victory; 5. the Founding Ceremony of the People's Republic of China; 6. the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea; 7. the Establishment of the System; 8. Self-reliance; 9. the Initiation of China's Reform; 10. Opening up; 11. Century Boom; 12. Scientific Development; 13. Alleviating Poverty; 14. Achieving Moderate Prosperity in All Respects; 15. Strengthening and Developing the Armed Forces; 16. Setting Sail for a long journey ahead; 17. the Unshakable Faith; 18. Source of Strength; 19. Winning Tough Battles; 20. Chasing Dreams.
Taking red and gold as the main colors of the picture, the commemorative stamps are designed in se-tenant style. The main elements of the stamps, such as the logo for the CPC centenary, "the site of the first CPC National Congress" and "Tian'anmen", shine brightly under ultraviolet lamp.
The 100th Anniversary of the Founding of The Communist Party of China set of stamps has the largest number of pieces, the broadest content and the highest specification in the series of stamps issued for the anniversary of the founding of the CPC. The full sheet has a value of 24 yuan, 20 pieces per sheet, each stamp is 1.2 yuan. Size of the sheet is 220x238mm, Individual stamps are 50x36mm, perf 13 syncopated, The sheet is Scott 4822, individual stamps are 4822a to 4822t.
2021-15 On 2021 August 19 China Post issued one commemorative stamp entitled The 70th Anniversary of the Peaceful Liberation of Tibet. The face value of the stamp is 1.2 yuan, and the planned circulation was 7 million.
The foreground of the picture shows the scene of local people singing and dancing and celebrating together. Behind the people, new Tibetan houses are clean and beautiful, and the cattle and sheep are fat, showing a thriving scene. The background of the picture shows the Fuxing bullet train on the plateau, lined with towering snow-capped mountains and other elements.
The stamp was designed by Rong Tie and Shen Jiahong and printed with photogravure technology by Beijing Stamp Printing House Company Limited. Size: 40x30mm, 13 perf, syncopated, 10 per sheet, Scott 4825.
2021-17: Issued 2021-8-28 and featuring a figure from Chinese mythology. Nezha was born a mortal boy but became an immortal god through many adventures. He appears in Taoist and Buddhist mythology as well as in "The Journey to the West". The story was recorded in film as early as 1928. Nezha is also a character in many video games. Set of six in three sheets, two designs per sheet. Two have a face value of 0.80 yuan and four of 1.2 Yuan, perf 13.25 x 13 syncopated, Scott 4826 – 4831.
2021-18: Issued 2021-9-7. Four varieties of Hibiscus mutabilis, the original and v. (variety) Jinqiuhong, v. Chongbanbai, and v. Zuifurong. Hibiscus mutabilis is also known as the Confederate rose, Dixie rosemallow, cotton rose or cotton rosemallow. Originally grown in China it is now grown on every continent except Antarctica. They grow as trees in warm climates and as shrubby bushes in cooler places. Flowers can be double or single and are 4–6 in (10–15 cm) in diameter; they open white or pink, and change to deep red by evening. Each stamp has a face value of 1.2 yuan. Perf 13. Scott 4832 – 4835
Issued 2021-9-15. (No China Post series number) Peking Union Medical College Hospital + label. Peking Union Medical College Hospital is a large teaching hospital in Beijing. It was founded in 1921 by the Rockefeller Foundation and is affiliated with both Peking Union Medical College (PUMC) and the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. The last emperor of China, Aisin-Gioro Puyi, died at the Peking Union Medical College Hospital on October 17, 1967. Face value of 1.2 yuan. Perf 13.25, Scott 4836
2021-19: Issued on 2021-9-15 a set of two stamps to commemorate the 14th Chinese National Games. One shows a female shooter with handgun, the other shows four-man sculls with the Games mascots in the bottom left. Perf 13.25 x 13, syncopated. Se-tenant horizontal pair is Scott 4837, individual stamps are 4837a – 4837b. Face value of each stamp is 1.2 yuan. There is a sheetlet with a pair of stamps and another sheetlet with three pairs.
2021-20 China Post issued a souvenir sheet for the special stamp entitled Our Motherland So Rich in Beauty on September 25, 2021. The denomination of this stamp is 6 yuan, and 6 million will be issued.
Our Motherland So Rich in Beauty has its origin in a huge, colorful landscape painting co-created in 1959 by contemporary Chinese painters Fu Baoshi and Guan Shanyue. The original painting is 6.5 meters high and 9 meters wide. This masterpiece artistically integrates almost all views that best represent China's magnificent landscape and the spirit of the Chinese nation as well. The painting encompasses the scenery on both sides of the Great Wall and all along the Yellow River in four different seasons.
Through graphic design techniques, the stamp displays the magnificent landscape of the original painting. With the quietly elegant traditional patterns on the margins setting off the grandeur and majesty of the painting, the overall design is simple but graceful, creating the classic effect. The stamp is designed by Wang Huming and printed by Henan Posts and Telecommunications Printing House via offset intaglio technology. Souvenir sheet consisting of one stamp, 6 yuan value, 128x80mm perf 13x13.5, offset intaglio. Scott 4838.
